Position Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating the overall maintenance of the network equipment and software in conjunction with Managed Services consultants and assisting employees with technological support to desktop computers, servers, applications, and other work related technologies. Duties will include hardware, software, networking, telephone and telecommunications support.

Duties:

• Provides technical assistance for installation, configuration, and ongoing use of computers, approved software, and related equipment;

• Monitors application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve timely issues;

• Assists with the testing, maintenance, and installation of network servers, VoIP (voice over internet protocol) phone systems, related equipment, and software;

• Experience with popular corporate software systems and hardware;

• Assists with help-desk service calls and end-user interaction;

• Coordinates with consultants and vendor support contacts to perform regular system back-ups, resolve technical problems, and provide users with effective and efficient solutions;

• Analyzes, recommends, and installs and upgrades network equipment and software to maintain the integrity and security of RSIC’s computer/network systems and phone systems;

• Provides training to RSIC staff on effective use of software and hardware;

• Ensures interconnectivity of diverse systems, including but not limited to: file servers, email servers, computer conferencing, VoIP phone systems, and administrative systems;

• Maintains computer supplies and provides purchasing specifications to the Manager;

• Assists with maintenance of software licensing records and requirements;

• Performs network and telecommunication cabling as needed;

• Familiarity with server hardware and software, operating systems, and administration;

• The ability to interact with external vendors and supplies as necessary;

• Assists with maintenance and updates to the RSIC Website (www.rsic.org) and

Performs other job related functions as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science at the time of hire or a minimum of five (5) years or more of professional experience with computer networking, repairs, and software installation and maintenance;

• Computer proficiency with RSIC software applications within one (1) month of hire Blackbaud, Accufund, Microsoft Office and VoIP;

• Working knowledge and experience with CAT 5/5e/6 network cabling, termination, and jacks;

• Knowledge of principles and methods of computer programming as evidenced by confirmed work history and interview;

• Manual, visual, and physical dexterity sufficient to perform all job related functions at the time of hire;

• Age twenty-one (21) years or older at the time of hire with eligibility for the Reno-Sparks vehicle insurance program; and

• Ability to successfully communicate both verbally and in writing.

Hiring preference is provided to members of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes.

Must pass and comply with the HR Policy 164.905- PL101.630-Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Protection Act.

Reno-Sparks Indian Colony requires any designated candidate to complete a pre-employment drug screen, valid driver license, and confirmation of professional references.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.13 - $31.60 per hour
